I understand how you are feeling as you've invested in the Fitbit Family and received the device as a gift; however, we as any other company have policies to follow through. While customer satisfaction remains our number one goal, the demands of running a global business require that we enforce our warranty consistently. Regarding your inquiry about compatibility, our engineering team works really hard to keep up with every phone and mobile device releases, so our customers can enjoy their trackers to the fullest. I recommend keeping an eye on this page, as it will be listed there when your device is fully supported (https://www.fitbit.com/devices).
