Data did not reset at midnight

Hi,

I've just received my Blaze and have been trying it out. In the interests of conserving battery life, I shut it down overnight (I'm not interested in my sleep patterns and it gives my wrist a chance to experience normality), then connect the Fitbit Android app to it when I restart it in the morning. Syncing, so far, has reset all parameters, just as if the Blaze had done a midnight rollover.

This morning, however, the only parameter reset was the time. Step count, and its dependents like calories used and distance moved, remained unchanged. I suspect that I might need to do a real midnight rollover to fix this problem, but perhaps there's a quicker way that I can use should this recur. I don't want to have to leave the Blaze on over midnight as a general rule - that's 6-7 hours battery life used even if it is at minimal level, for absolutely no gain as I don't want to wear it whilst asleep.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give,

Paul.

@cplloyd42  By shutting down the Blaze every night, you will have issues with the time.  Every time you shut down the blaze, then start it back up, it will start the time from when it was shut down.  (Until you sync to get correct time and date)

I would try leaving it turned on, but not wear it.  See if that helps you.  (I know you said you didn't want to leave it on, but by trying it for a few days, you can see if this corrects your issue(s) and also see how much the battery may drain down too. )

Thanks, Kmransom123. As my original posting indicated, by connecting my Fitbit app in the morning after I turn on the Blaze then syncing, the Blaze seemed to do "midnight" reset as all parameters were set back to zero. It's just that this morning only the time and date reset.

What I was hoping for was an alternative way to do a "midnight" reset. Perhaps, the only option would be a hard reset followed by a sync via the Fitbit app. I tried pressing the Back button for 10-15 secs, but nothing happened.

Well, I did leave my Blaze on overnight, and all the stats reset as they should at midnight.

Now, here's a thought - I did something a little different that may have caused this problem:

When I shut the Blaze down, I left my Android tablet running with the FitBit app active overnight. Prior to this problem appearing, I had been shutting down my tablet as well (usually before shutting down the Blaze). So, perhaps this combination of states - Android tablet FitBit app active overnight, Blaze shutdown overnight then restarted next morning - isn't well catered for (developers please note).

In future, I'll make sure the FitBit app is fully shut down, or the table is fully shut down before shutting down my Blaze. I'll let you know if this arrangement causes the problem again.
