Display issue on my sons Blaze

Finally got around to setting up my sons blaze and all seemed to of gone well. I Connected to Bluetooth on phone, linked and synced to Fitbit app no problem. The issue is once I have taken out of the charger and put the tracker into the strap there is no functionality at all, screen is blank buttons don’t function. The screen seems fine as it shows the clock etc perfectly when in the charger. Please help this frustrated Dad.
