Does bluetooth classic have to be enable to use phone gps?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Recently bought a fitbit blaze and currently trying to get used to it.

With bluetooth classic set to off, my blaze is unable to connect to phone gps when I try and start an activity.  If I turn bluetooth classic on then it will connect to my phone.

Can someone please confirm if this is correct as I can't find any definitive information in the user guide.

Thanks

Although this is your experience with your particular phone, this is definitely not how it is officially meant to work.  According to the official specs/ info from Fitbit, Blue Tooth Classic is only used for music control.

Thank you, I thought that may be the case. Is this a common issue and is there a fix for it do you know?

Hi, @doginabag, you are the first person I have seen reporting that BT classic needs to be on in order to use "Connected GPS" on the Blaze.

I will say that I have seen frequent reports of difficulty connecting for no known reason.  I think one of the issues with Android phones is likely to be that for each phone the OS can really be very different so it is difficult to get consistent reports about what works and what doesn't work.

I would say that if you find it connects consistently as long as you have BT Classic turned on, then go ahead and go for it.  If it works for you, that is all that matters.

Mine defaults to ‘classic’ and this is what shows in the notification bar on my phone. I don’t use it for music.
