Doesn't calculate stairs while being on a stairmaster

When I am on the stairmaster it doesn't calculate how many flight of stairs.

Fitbits measure stairs by detecting the change in air pressure as you gain altitude. Unfortunately, you don't gain any altitude when on the stairmaster so you don't get any stairs recorded. There's not a way round this I'm afraid.
