Don't work out or run, should I get a tracker?

So I bought an Alta for someone over Christmas, in doing so I was able to try out different trackers for myself at the stores. I never considered any of these things before since I have no real use for them, I don't workout or run but I do go on regular hikes and I already have three different ABC watches for that.

I did like how the blaze looked when I tried it on, it was surprisingly comfy and light. Other than that, I have no use for a timepiece that needs frequent recharging and probably won't last more than 2 years. I'm also not thrilled about how there are only four options for watch faces.

Just wondering if it's a good idea for someone to pick up one of these who doens't really intend on using it's fitness features.

Thanks for the quick response. Having someone quote it and highlight those bits really put it into context. I guess I'll save up a bit more for that Garmin that I like.

So why would a Garmon be wanted?
