Erratic recording of daily goals

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Frequently the fitbit app records meeting my goals but fails to record the daily exercise as being met, and does not show ANY activity in the daily history. For example, yesterday I exceeded all goals by at least 30%, and some a lot more than that. Nothing shows in the history. Today I barely squeaked by the daily activity goal, and bingo, it is recorded as meeting the daily exercise goal, and shows in my daily history. I now see two days, not three. I do analyze my exercise history so I'd really like this to work.I

To be clear this is not a syncing problem. The information is present in the dashboard on the app. It's just not saved.

Hi @SunsetRunner , it's great to see you around! I am sorry for the late response.

Thank you for sharing the details of the issue you're having with the daily exercise goal. I appreciate your efforts to resolve this and would like to confirm if you've tried to restart the app, log out and log back in and restart the phone? To further investigate, please confirm if the issue is with the exercises not being saved which affect the daily exercise goal? Does your daily exercise goal start counting from Sunday or Monday?

For more information about exercise goals, please see this help article: What should I know about exercise goals in the Fitbit app?

Please keep me posted.

Hi I did all that. Today was almost an identical exercise profile as monday
and it did record. The problem seems to be in the app. The data gets
synchronized just fine but the exercise goal is not indicated as met and
the data is thrown away. This happens all the time, once almost every week.
My next wearable may not be a fitbit if this problem persists. I won't
discard the Blaze but probably will hunt for another device if it dies and
the error is still present.

Thanks for the response.

Hi are you also using an LG v30? It seems to work better but not always. I
can't imagine what is special about this phone?

As luck would have it, the last two days were not recorded even though I am way past the main activity goal. There is nothing special about the LG v30, and no other app has problems like this so I strongly suspect most users have this problem. My career as a software qa manager is showing. More seriously I will start researching alternative brands sometime soon.

I've re-confirmed my exercise goal and that my app is up to date.  Still not working so I think I'm going to disable that as it just pisses me off. Below is my July 25 workout info and below that is the activity history which does not display this 7/25 workout at all.  @SunsetRunner please let me know what other trackers you research.

My conclusion is that if you set your goal to activity and walk long enough
in one stretch to meet that goal if will record that a being met. You could
walk 6 shorter intervals to no avail. Ridiculous.
