What I would value immensely is an Export function that downloads not just the summary information, but the whole database that you hold on me, or at least the timeline data for the various parameters you measure. For example, I have just been on a run and the ‘Recent Exercise’ shows a nice graph of how e.g. my heartbeat changed over the 25 minutes. Is there any way I can get the timeline of that graph as an Excel spreadsheet timeline so I can do my own analysis?

There is a way. If you record your exercise manually as a "Run" my Fitbit connects to the GPS on the phone and record not only position but heart rate data. Then, in the dashboard you can export you exercise data as a TCX file. You can open that TCX file with an open source GPC program and export to excel. All the info recorded is exported. Then you can do whatever analysis you want. I actually use this method to integrate my calorie burn based on my heart rate. Integrated numbers came very close to fitbit in some activities like jogging and running but very off when other activities that are not based on "steps" are considered

I’d like to download my sleep timeline data and steps so I can send to sleep apnea doc and urologist. There’s no setting for starting and stopping sleep tracking, like for Run or Walk.
