Sorry, but Fitbit does not offer extended warranties. As a matter of fact, most manufacturers do not directly off extenced warranties. They are usually sold by 3rd parties.

Warranty depends on the country also.. in the UK Fitbit Store it mentions 2 year limited warranty (to date).. while on the US Fitbit Store it reads 1 year limited warranty..

@Mggriffin stated the extended warranty was posted through Amazon, thos would be a question for them.
The reason third parties love to offer extended waranties is because of the profit, which is about 90%. Once Best Bye even offered me a 50% discount if I purchase their extended warranty. Which woild have brought the cost back to the origanal price.
Radio Shack asked if i wanted to purchase for $15 the extended warranty on a $9 purchase???

@Mggriffin @Mggriffin Welcome to the Community! If you buy an extended warranty, it will be applicable at the place you bought it. Fitbit have just 1 year warranty in US, you can learn more about it by checking Fitbit Legal.
@Rich_Laue @SunsetRunner @SunsetRunner Thank you for your help .
Hope this helps.

@SunsetRunner The warranty started at the day of purchase i would think. Please see the responses above for more info on warranty and how long.
As for an extended warranty, please see the responses above, you will notice that Fitbit does not offer one.
Fitbit now offers an extended warranty when you purchase from them.
I haven't found a need to purchase., since my almost 5 year old, and both 3 year old for bits are still fine.

In Canada, it depends on the province. I bought an Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551KL (3/16) and a 551ML (4/64) within 2 weeks of each other. Everytime I've been asked to get the extended warranty, I've turned it down because either it's getting replaced in a year or 18 months (once the Zenfone 3 comes out (570KL, 6/64 version), both the 551KL and ML will be regulated to backup status with the 551KL only being used as a WiFi phone, I'll be keeping the 551ML as my personal backup). I should point out that despite what the Asus forum says, with the problems enountered before and after the M upgrade, I have experienced none of those issues (If you dare look, search under my user name and don't eat or drink anything. I've used Grand Theft Auto forum rules to deal with people on that forum. Some of the stuff I've said on there can't be repeated here).
I had to avail myself on the manufacturers warranty on the 551ML once because unless you were a ninja, nothing would work with the screen and this happened 10 minutes after I spent over a thousand dollars on an hp Pavilion to replace an hp I bought 2 years ago. Right off the bat Asus gave me an RMA number when I told them what was going on. (In the Asus thread, especially with screen flickering, they said that the M upgrade would solve this. I called BS on it and told them it was a hardware issue. I was right. People there think they are God Almighty. On here, that's definitely not the case, although I've experienced none of the problems people are describing). Most issues in that forum result in the phones either being sold online (you've been warned), and having the firmware flashed to something different (I found this one out when I pressed a user from India about it), or phones purchased outside the geographical region of where it was initially sold. Let's not forget no technical expertise. Should my phone mess up, I can have it back the way it was in about 3 hours. The phone was there and back in a week, and it did take me 3 hours to restore it the way it was and to transfer a small amount of data from the 551KL I'd been using to the 551ML.
As for extended warranties, those really are a cash grab. If you've watched the American Greed episode (CNBC for those in the States and Canada, CNBC World everywhere else), that profiled Darain and Corey Atkinson (the founders of US Fidelis), you will see what kind of cash grab that really is. Since that episode, I've always turned down extended warranties (never was a huge fan). Even though it was mostly done through the post and the call centre (which was hell trying to cancel), you'll have an idea of how much revenue this generates. It was also criminal too, as they were both sentenced to Federal Prison. One of those charges was tax evasion. Another was mail fraud. There was more, but those were the 2 major ones.
In FitBit's defense, they are 100% justified into not offering an extended warranty. Some of those could be illegal as well, as the US Fidelis episode on American Greed profiled. If it's done through a third party, you could be heading into some murky water. And you might not be getting or seeing anything in return.
Granted if you buy from Amazon, or FitBit or whatever, they have their own terms for returns, exchanges, refunds, blah, blah, blah. Amazon I've found is pretty good with their refund policy as I've had to return something 3 times because it didn't work. And Amazon has deep enough pockets not to go third party as far as I know.

@Driver8666 of course I understand that the extended warranty is a cash cow and would never purchase one.. That however doesn't change the fact that this thread was because of the lack of the much wanted extended warranty.
The reason it is a cash cow is because only a very small percentage of people ever need to take advantage of what is offered..
In any case fitbit has partnered with a third party that specializes in warranties.

When I bought an hp laptop to replace a desktop, then as now, I was asked about an extended warranty. I said no. Premise was I'd be replacing it in 2 years. I replaced it in 22 months. I had only one problem with the Pavilion. In Diablo III, Reaper of Souls, when you logged in, it would kick you back out to the desktop after 5 minutes. Turns out the factory installed software for the graphics chip was the problem. I installed the commercial version of the graphics card onto the computer. Problem solved. It's an AMD Radeon R7 graphics chip. I used to use ATI cards, because their head office was in Markham, Ontario. I continue this with ATI's successor, AMD. They still have that office. AMD processors are known to fry bacon, but hey, it survives my brutal use. This might sound familiar with some of the users here with the Blaze.
Here's the premise and I look at it this way:
It's like buying a new car. It might be all shiny on the showroom floor, but once you drive it off the lot, it depreciates pretty quickly. Same thing with the extended warranty. By the time the Blaze's life cycle has ended, you might have something better. That is if Fitbit or whoever offers an extended warranty.

I Disagree.
I never buy extended warranties on products that are known to last, but the first 4 fitbits I had were all replaced in warranty or extended warranty.
My Surge HR extended warranty cost me $11.00 and paid me $189 when it failed. I have had 5 fitbits and they have all failed except the one I purchased last week with the $189 from my extended warranty.

where did you find an extended warranty for your Surge? I would like one for the Blaze I just purchased at the Microsoft Store. They do not sell one for Fitbits.

Where did you find an extended warranty for your Surge. I would like to purchase one for my new Blaze for less that the Sq Trade one offered 49.00 and 39.00 deductible or about 89.00 for no deductible... that is a crazy price for a 199.00 item.

The extended warranty is an option Ed offered during the purchase of a tracker from the Fitbit store.
You might want to go to https://www.squaretrade.com/fitness-tracker-warranty and look into purchasing it independent of fitbit.

Welcome to the Community @PJHawk! When you buy a Fitbit tracker, you have the option to purchase a Fitbit Protection Plan (US only). Currently, this is just for Alta, Alta HR, Blaze, Charge 2 or Flex 2.
Additionally, here's the Fitbit warranty that you will acquire, if you buy any Fitbit tracker and what it covers.
Hope this helps!
