Factory reset blaze to transfer to a new user

So I want to give my Blaze to my mom. I am trying to get the Blaze to reset as a new device (factory reset) and all I can find is info on restarting it (pressing left and lower right buttons), which does NOT reset it to factory settings. Because it is linked to my account, I cannot get her bluetooth to find the device when trying to set it up for her.

I deleted the device from my own app ("forget this device") but that doesn't solve my issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, but there is no factory reset for the Blaze. Deleting it from your account and clearing any messages should be all you need.

Is the device you are trying to sync to a supported device?

Actually all you need to do is

sync the Blaze

go to your phones Bluetooth settings and unpair the Blaze and Blaze Classic.  attach the Blaze to moms account

at this time the Blaze will be removed from your account.

Your mom is all setup

The reason to unpair it from your phone

so your notifacations stop being sent to it

so the tracker isnt bonded to your phone anymore

The problem is I can't seem to get it to send a new bluetooth pairing signal out from the Blaze — she's on an OLD iphone that can't download the fitbit app, so I am trying to do this for her from her mac desktop computer. I can get it to the point where it says it wants to pair with a bluetooth device, but the bluetooth on her Mac does not seem to SEE a bluetooth signal from the Blaze... and I can't figure out how to make it do so!

You want to set it up to your account? Durring the setup process it resets the tracker. What log are you looking at?

Hard for to believe there's no factory reset on the device. I'm having the same issue and it appears those no solution. I've removed it from account and trying to add it back. I've impaired and all I have right now is an unconnected watch. I should have kept my Microsoft Band 2.

Have you looked at the troubleshooting guide?

Have you removed the Blaze from your phones Bluetooth?

A factory r3set should 7ld not help you, You could go into its settings and shutdown the Blaze. This 2ill reset both hardware and software.

Hello all, I hope you are doing fine. Woman Happy

Regarding to this inquiry, if you are going to pass your tracker to someone else, you just need to do the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. Tap the Blaze icon
  2. Tap the trash icon
  3. Tap Unpair

Then, the other person just need to create an account and setup the tracker.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Wink

Hi Alejandra, how would you do this if my phone is broken and can't get into it to unpair?

@Luv2pbal simply hand the tracker to the person your giving it to , whrn they set it up to their fitbit account it will  be removed from your account.

The tracker will not be able to comunicate with a dead phone, so you don't have to worry here.

Did your husband create his own fitbit account @B2b2017? Trophies are stored on the account, not the tracker.

have done this many time with a Blaze i got and i still get notifications from the first owner's phone when i am near their phone

Best Answer

@craigL that is because the original owner srill has the Blaze your using connected to their phone.

They need to go into their phones Bluetooth and tell it to forget the Blaze.

I'm not sure what the "this" is that has been tried.
