Make sure to sync the tracker to your account before linking to your mother's account.
Consider waiting after midnight so a new day has started before linking to her account.
When linking to her account only the current day stats should be sync'ed as it's setup to another account..
When linking to her accounts it will be removed from yours.
It's possible on the devices settings page on fitbit.com to unlink the tracker when desired from your account..
The tracker can't be factory reset, though no personal information is on the tracker.
