There are several $10-$50 bluetooth camera remotes for your iPhone/Droid out there that simply push the button for you. I belive the apple watch can do this. But since the Blaze has buttons and bluetooth. It would be such an obvious feature to add to the Blaze. Its simple and Its probably a bluetooth standard already out there..
I would like to use my Blaze as a bluetooth camera remote for my iPhone.

Actually @j3rm have you tried it yet? I use the Blaze frequently as a remote. With android the remote volume control can be used as a shutter release.. Start up the. Camera,, go to the music screen, press volume up when you want to take the picture. I believe this also works with iOS, since most camera remotes simply send a volume up command.

Thats interesting. on the iPhone ( ios10) if you open the camera app and push volume up button on the blase, its shows the volume square in the screen. So it appears that iOS is a little diffrent in that area.
Great idea though. Glad it works for the android folks.

Since this clock is a half smart one, it is desgined to be just a puls clock with minor extantion with functionality. With memory restriction on this device, it will make all kinda extra function hard to implement.
If u want a smart clock with lots of functions this is not a device for you. It is a pulseclock with minor extra functionalitys.

Most of todays camera aps are able to use the volume button to trigger a photo. This is exactly what most of those remote shutter releases take advantage of. I also noticed i can take a photo yuing the volume control on a wired headpbone, bor a bluetooth headphone.
For me i usuwlly just say yhe word "Smile", it is so much easier.

Yes, Its well estabilished thats how apps work but the FitBit is an Bluetooth accessory.
The Fitbit software on the Blaze needs to be updated to support sending BT Keyboard commands to the device. Then the Blaze can send the proper BT command to take a picture. This is the only way it will work in an iOS device. Its only a matter of time before this goes beyound iOS devices.
Once this support is added, it would work with all camera apps not just the default one.

MY Blaze is allready setup as a Bluetooth accessory keybord.
I simply open the camera app, you might need to enable the volume trigger in the cameras settings.
I now open the music control on the Blaze, and press volume down.
The reason it is off is because I'm currently using the Charge 2 and am 80 miles away from the Blaze.
And with the selfie stick i am able to change the volume of the music.
I still think it is easier to just say smile, or OK Google, Take a picture

Again, its well established that this works on android.
It would be nice if it worked with iOS. It does not at this time.
When you perform the steps you suggested on ios, the camera app shows the volume going up.
If I use the volume up button on the iOS device, it takes a picture. So its not something on the iOS device that is not enabled.
iStabilizer sells a remote camera button for < $20 that shows up as a keyboard on iOS. Whatever they did, is what fitbit should do, it would work on all mobile platforms. Instead of the volume up option.
