Since the last firmware update the fitbit app is no longer recording the distance and route of my runs, it just shows a dot or a line on the map graphic. Today it didn't even manage that. My Blaze says it is connected to the phone

I was about to suggest to make sure that it says that it's connected to your phone but it's weird that it says it's connected and doesn't show you the route.
Have you tried to restart your tracker? You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot. Sometimes doing it a couple of times works. Let me know if this make things better.
