Fitbit Blaze counted steps while it was off

Good afternoon! I've been feeling sick so last night I decided not to sleep with the Fitbit and I turned it off. This morning when I turned it on (like at 11:30) it showed that I had walked over 3,000 steps and burned 1,900 calories. Why is this happening!? I hadn't had any issues with it until now.

Hi there @Krystle627. Good to see you in the Community! 🙂

It's totally weird that your tracker recorded steps while it was turned off. At this point, I'd recommend restarting your tracker by following these instructions. Once you've restarted it, keep an eye on it and if you want, do one more test. Turn the tracker off and don't wear it for a night and see if this happens again or not.

In the meantime, you can get rid of these steps by negating them. For the instructions on how to do it, please click here.

Please keep me updated with any news on this!

Thank you.

Is it possible these calories and steps were recorded BEFORE you turned off your tracker? At 11;30pm it would be showing all of that days data.

I turned it on at 11:30 am. I noticed that when I would click on "calories" it said how many I ACTUALLY did on the top left corner, as well as with the steps. I think it just continued using the previous day's log and added to that. Thank you

I didn't think of that, but yes the Fitbit needs to be running at midnight.
