Fitbit Blaze counting steps for washing dishes

I noticed yesterday that while I was washing the dishes my fitbit was counting each dish I washed as if I was walking, also when I was washing my kitchen floor it counted me as taking 278 steps. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi @BobbyB2959. It's nice to see a new member around!

I'm sorry for my delayed response and thanks for letting me know about your Blaze. Let me share that your device has a finely-tuned algorithm that looks for intensity and motion patterns to record your steps. When you're doing activities that require arm movements, such as cooking or washing dishes, your Blaze may add some steps. Because you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods you often walk a few steps, your device will try to give you credit for those steps.

You can try wearing your device on your other wrist, making sure to adjust the dominant hand settings in the Fitbit app, when doing those activities. Also, let me suggest to check our help article. for more information about how your Fitbit device counts steps

I'll be around if you need anything else.
