Fitbit Blaze isn't being accurate

My Fitbit Blaze is doing things all on its own, it is possessed!

It is randomly tracking exercise on an elliptical multiple times a day, as I am sitting at my desk at work, not pressing any buttons on the Fitbit, and definitely not using an elliptical machine. It does not log my actual exercise, walking, weights, etc. I can look at the screen and see that it is registering an increased heart rate, but it does not translate to the app at all. The distance is incredibly inaccurate most of the time. My friends and I walk the same exact distance at the same time, with each other, and each of our Fitbit will log the distance differently, not acceptable!

What the hell is going on with the crappy programming of this tracker? It wasn't cheap. I expect items I purchase to function as advertised, for more than a month. About to upgrade to the newest model (Versa). Hoping it works better than the Blaze.

Hey @Sandi697, welcome to the Community.

I am sorry to hear that your Blaze isn't registering your information accurately and recommend taking a look at this post and follow the instructions provide there. After these steps, test your unit. Also, keep in mind that you and your friends won't have the same information since your trackers estimate your data based on your height, weight, age and gender.

Let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

I understand completely that my friends and I would have different step counts for the same distance because of height and step distance differences.  The problem is more that we walk the exact same distance at the same time - together - and our individual fitbits will register different distances.  That has nothing to do with step counts, that is bad programming.
I am also disappointed that I paid so much money for a fitness tracker that is not waterproof or even water resistant.  ALL FITNESS TRACKERS SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE WATERPROOF!!!! ATHLETES SWEAT AND GET WET ALL THE TIME!!
Overall, I am disappointed in the lack of consideration for the customer/user shown by the Fitbit company.  There seems to be very much of an "Oh Well, we're working on it" attitude with no actual care or solutions.
The tips and tricks in the post you referenced were of little help.  I had already done all those things with no positive results.
Prove you want to keep customers/users - take complaints seriously, FIX PROBLEMS in a way that doesn't require me to spend another $200 to $300 for the latest model that will supposedly work better.  And if the only way to resolve my issues is with the newest model item - you had better offer me (and any existing customer/user) a very significant discount to upgrade.
Thank youSandi
