Fitbit Blaze price for Germany

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I saw that the price for Fitbit Blaze pre-order to Germany is much more expensive than in the US. It's 229.95 Euro.

So will this price stays the same once it hits the store or can we expect a lower price starting March?

@dntb since the Blaze hasn't been launched yet not sure anyone can really answer that. But I did check out the German site for Fitbit and it is showing the $229.95 Euro and the Surge at $249.95 Euro. Interesting. Maybe we will get more information shortly from Fitbit on that.

@dntb Fitbit lists its products uniquely in each region. I wouldn't expect to see that price change once Blaze begins shipping.

It's the same everytime, prices for Germany are 10% higher than for any other country, seems it is expected of us to be able to pay more so they charge us the extra money.

You're making the very big assumption that the price difference is all profit rather than taxation or other costs.

@Aredhel , Europeans do pay a little more compared to the same product in the USA.  However, unless they make a change for the Blaze, you might note that in the USA the guarantee is only for one year, whereas in the EU the guarantee is for two years.  That might be worth paying a small premium for.

What taxes might that be? UK VAT is 20%, Germany VAT is 19%.

@Julia_G Not really. These types of devices are rather short-lived, so a 1-year warranty works out in most cases. If I wanted an extended warranty I'd like to be given a choice. The way it is I have to pay premium whether I like it or not.

re taxes, the price quoted in Euro will no doubt include the tax (VAT). The price in $ will not include the tax, so in some states you can add up to about 10% to the price. Agreed the price in Europe is still somewhat higher, but not a lot.

Just a thought, Now in Amazon Germany the price of Fitbit Surge is 199 euro instead of the full price 250 euro and Fitbit Charge HR is 125 Euro instead of full price 149 Euro. Can we expect a similar discount for the Fitbit Blaze once it hit the German market or the discount will come after a long time maybe 1 year or so?

@Aredhel, under EU rules one always has the right to a minimum 2-year guarantee. The seller is required to repair or replace a faulty device free of charge or give you a price reduction or a full refund. This must add significantly to Fitbit's costs in the region. I don't think it is possible to opt out of this consumer protection.
