Fitbit Blaze shut off suddenly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning my Blaze all of a sudden shut completely off while I was on a walk. I pressed every button on the sides and got no response on the screen. The battery was only about halfway gone and I didn't get any notifications that it was low. Put it on the USB charger and screen was still black. Green lights on the bottom side still work. Blaze is less than three months old and I've used it pretty responsibly. Anyone else had this problem before? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer.

Hey there @TexasLori and @olly80190, welcome to the Community!

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourselves. I would like to know if you have tried to restart your devices? If you haven't, I recommend restarting them by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

OK, that's troubling.

Mine did a similar thing on December 16th.

I finished a training session, battery at least at half capacity. About 15 minutes after my session (for which I did not start explicit tracking), my Blaze turned-off and then restarted.

The problem now is that the Blaze is not operational anymore. I observed the following things:

  • The screen turns on normally when put in the charging dock.
  • The charging occurs normally.
  • There is no way to activate the display by tapping it.
  • The Blaze does not respond to button presses or if it does (very rarely), it takes several seconds to activate.
  • The Blaze is hotter than usual even when not in the dock.
  • The battery lasts about half a day.
  • The Blaze can connect to my phone and download data.
  • The HR sensor is operational since the green emitters are working.

It look like the Blaze is internally stuck in some sort of infinite loop.

I did every thing I can to get it out of this state, including:

  • Hard reset using the 2-buttons procedure.
  • Let the battery die completely and recharge.

You probably guessed that nothing worked.

What's the next step? My Blaze is about 6 months old.
