I got my first fitibit device Blaze delivered to me 2 days back.  since then I have been trying to setup as per directions on website -

1. by installing fitbit app - on windows phone 8.1 & windows 10 computer - the device keeps showing fitbit.com/setup on the screen and have not been able to progress further than this.

2. the tracker needs an update, when I click on it, it gets stuck on tracker - have tried more than 30 times, no success in the past 2 days.

3. Blaze does not show on the list of devices - was it a bad idea that I chose the latest device?!!

4. have tried resetting device by holding the left and right bottom buttons & restarting the phone & computer and reopening app, nothing has helped.

Experience has been terrible so far!!  I have spent the last two days just trying to fix this with no avail.  Have read almost every setup issue posted on this forum.  They could have provided instructions on how to set it up along with the device.

Need help to setup and fix this.  if nothing works planning on returning it....

Hi @SmartBee. First up, the Blaze is optimised to work with Windows 10, so if your phone is running 8.1, chance are out won't be able to set up your Blaze and provide the necessary update.
Secondly, it also seems not all computers running W10 are equal, and if it was one that originally ran an earlier version of Windows, chance are, again, it won't be able to connect to your Blaze. Something to do with the improper Bluetooth requirements. Fitbit do provide a BT dongle, which helps with this and if you have one it might be best to try that.

If however you're rocking the latest and greatest W10 pc, then I'd say, use the app on that and keep trying, because setup and update can take a long time. Mine took 5hrs of non stop restarts, reboots, reinstalls, before it eventually decided to do it, and when it did, the process went as smooth as butter, such that I was left thinking, what was all the fuss about?

Good luck
