My fitbit one has helped me in the past 1 1/2 years lose over 50 pounds and since I am a type 2 diabetic, it's helped me LOWER my blood sugar into a controlled range of 80 - 90 instead of 330.
Question is... do I really need to plop down $200.00 for a new one when the F1 does good tracking floors / steps / miles / sleep? Is there anything else helpful with this that qualifies putting my fitbit one in a drawer? I basically walk over 5 miles a day and try to climb 10 - 30 floors a day... that keeps it in check.
Thanks,
Mark

Congratulations on the weight loss!
I'd say stick with what's been working for you. The step counting of the Blaze, being wrist-worn, will be less accurate than that of the One. Not worth the $200.

Hello @SunsetRunner, @SunsetRunner and @Rich_Laue it's great to have you here! @SunsetRunner congratulations on your weight loss and your effort to lower your blood sugar. I'm sure you feel great! 🙂 You can compare trackers to determine if upgrading is the way to go. I must admit that to me is better to wear a wrist based tracker as I tend to forget things on my pockets.
I'll be around if you have any questions. 🙂

Hi Changed. I had a fitbit One for over 2 years. (Jan. 2014). I wore it clipped to my bra daily. there were a few bugs with firmware but fitbit replaced my device twice, My current ONE model still works perfectly, and like you i just checked my phone. the wristband sleep tracker was wierd, but i changed it to a different one with a little zipper. many times i forgot to start the sleep mode or stop it. so it depends on your needs.
i now have the Blaze, i like the look, but it still is not what i expected. If i were you, i would wait about 3 months and keep reading the help forum. there are some issues that i did not think about.
however, if you are determined to purchase, use the 20% off coupon from Bed Bath Beyond. (standard coupon they send out) and keep the small dongle plugged into your laptop, the Blaze does not come with one. Blaze charger is completely different it is a long cord with a little plastic box you have to snap shut.
and congrats on your weight loss and blood glucose levels.

Another option is to do what I do and have both a One and a Blaze.
I love my One and it is still my favourite but there are times when I prefer to wear a wrist-worn tracker - such as when hiking - and although the step count may be more accurate with the One, this is offset by the heart rate monitoring which can improve accuracy.
Having multiple trackers on your account gives more flexibility and, yes, the Blaze does look cool.

the BLAZE DOES work without the arm swinging---i think the Charge does not. mine is fine...i got in over 1000 steps at costco today pushing a cart.
but seriously, give it a couple of months and see if they make improvements to what people are asking, (clock face, and sweep 2nd hand). other than that is is great...and there are a variety of dress bandsyou can purchase (elsewhere--3rd party bands thread) to dress it up like a watch if you like.
i am already on my 2nd glass screen protector, but have saved the watch from chipping.

Hello @Fands, @SteveH and @SunsetRunner! Hope you are having a great day! @SunsetRunner Fitbit wrist-based trackers have been tested extensively against our clip-based devices like the Fitbit One and Fitbit Zip. That said, because wrist-based trackers are specifically designed for your wrist, if you move your body a lot and not your arms (or vice versa), you may get a slight difference in activity than you would see on your clip-based trackers. Additionally, since you’re more likely to wear your wrist-based tracker 24/7, you may count a few more steps.
I'll be around if you have any questions.

First, let me congratulate you on making it so long without losing the Fitbit One. I think I lost three of them before I switched to the Flex. Personally, I like a few of the features the One had, like step counting and of course the leaves. The Flex doesn't have those, but the Blaze does. I wear an Apple Watch and love the notifications on my wrist. The Blaze has many of the features found on the Apple Watch. It's a tough call.

I have both "watches" and Blaze features are fairly limited, at least from my point-of-view. Blaze is optimized for all-day heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking, although both AW and Blaze have issues with tracking my HR during vigorous cardio and weight lifting so I still use a chest strap when I'm going hard on the bike.

i'm glad to say that i never lost my One because it was clipped to my bra--now although this does not apply to guys--maybe wearing it clipped to your tee-shirt collar might work although that might be too high to be accurate__IDK--i would have like to keep my One on my account, but i had enough trouble getting the Blaze set -up so i removed it.

Fands, I must admit I don't wear a bra "that often". The Fitbit is on my pants pocket everywhere I go and on my wrist at night. I guess you might say I'm on the "stagnant" side of things with a deskjob; I'm only able to squeek in 10,000 - 11,000 steps a day including 20 - 30 flights of stairs.
Wondering why my knees are now blown out...
