Hello all, I have a Fitbit Blaze and have been using for about 10 days at the gym to track my cardio calories burned during my weight lifting workout and cardio workouts. Before the Fitbit I would go by the numbers the various cardio machines told me and didn't log weight lifting workout.
I use the Arc Trainer every day and go 30 minutes burning at least 400-430 calories according to the machine. Now the Fitbit Blaze with heart rate monitor is telling me I am burning 290-330 calories for the same 30 minutes using the Elliptical mode under exercises since there is no Arc Trainer and the exercises are most similar. I don't mind the lower number if it is more accurate. I would think it would be because it is taking HRM measurements into account.
Now on the treadmill the machine gives me a lower number of calories burned for my 30 minutes than my Fitbit does, which I like, but I hope is also accurate.
So what do with think, just go by whatever the Fitbit says?
Thanks

The general consensus is that corfio machines have allways posted elsvated feel good cal points.
In general the more the machine knows about you, Height, weight, age, gender, body fat, and your fitness level. the closer te macgine will be in the calories burnt. The more efficient your body becomes the harder it has to work to get the same burn.
In theory since the Ditbit is monitoring your daily activity with heart rate it should have a closer idea of you.
Here is the first two articles a search engine brought up.

After seven months with my fitbit I want to add another question to this thread. I usually do half an hour on the Arc Trainer. It gets my heart rate going faster and I have sweat pouring off of me when I am done. I usually burn around 250-275 calories. It is hard to do for me and I am often winded but keep going. It really feels like a cardio workout. The Arc says I usually burn 400 calories. (I realize the FB is probably more accurate.)
I the move to the treadmill and walk at a 3 mph pace for half an hour. I don't sweat as much and feel like I could go much longer if not for shin splints hurting. My FB says I burn about the same calories, if not more, as the Arc. Now the treadmill calorie count is always much lower than my Blaze.
I work my butt off on the Arc, it makes me sweat and is tough to get my half hour. Other than my shins hurting I feel like the treadmill is much easier, but my Blaze says it burns about the same calories. Although in the fat burning zone and not the cardio zone. I guess they are both good zones to be in, but it confuses me. If I wanted to just take the easy route I could just do treadmill.

@pwgphoto, what does your heartrate look like? Fi5bit uses tome and tge heartrate to calculate calories?
