Fitbit distance tracking very very inaccurate

For about a year my Fitbit has been showing a very inaccurate readings e.g. after a 7 mile walk (with all the steps counted) my Fitbit would show 0.3 miles.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums @Popcake! I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for sharing the inconvenience that you have with the distance recording. I appreciate the details you provided. Please note that Fitbit devices calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps by your walking stride length and multiplying your running steps by your running stride length. For more accurate recording I will recommend to adjust your stride length manually, to check that all your personal information is accurate and you can also restart your Fitbit.

Sorry for the late reply but I have tested all different strife length and my distance remains the same?? I've got a new Fitbit since so it's not the tracker but the software
