Fitbit will replace my Blaze, but...

... what is the root cause for the failure?

I have used my Blaze for about 6 months. Last month after exercise one morning, unexpectedly the display went blank and would not return when pressing the left button. I tried a reset (left button + lower right), the display flashed momentarily and remained dark. I repeated after about one hour; the unit restarted and operated as if nothing ever happened until last Sunday, about six weeks later. I found the display blank and non-responsive and did the reset to restore operation. I had to do the reset two more times on Sunday. In one reset, it displayed for about 3 seconds a thermometer icon I had never seen before, indicating what looked like it was too cold. This occurred at room temperature. I reset. About 30 minutes later, I pressed the left button and it displayed a thermometer which indicated it was too hot, and I then reset. This occurred multiple times on Sunday and again  on Monday. I was able to get randomly either a hot or cold temperature icons, and all this time while the Blaze is at room temperature.

Fitbit was willing to replace the watch, it's in warranty. But what I need to know is what is the root cause? Is there some unintentional mishandling on my part that will recur with the replacement unit? I exercise on treadmill for about one hour daily. After I exercise, the part of the Blaze and strap against my arm is sweaty. I wipe the Blaze dry with a towel and separately rinse the strap. I would think this is completely normal use of the unit, but maybe it cannot tolerate the sweat. I don't want this to happen to a replacement unit, and cannot believe that this one unit was just a fluke.

Any advice?
