Fragile Screens Crack Easily

First I wanna start off by saying I love Fitbits. I was extreamily happy with my New Blaze. Unfortunately I am unhappy with the durability. I purchased my Blaze two days ago. Already the screen has been badly cracked. It occured while I was mowing the lawn today. I do not know how it happened, I dont remember anything hitting it or hitting my wrist against anything. It is my hope that I can find a solution to this problem. 25% off of a new fitbit blaze is not enough to keep my positive attitude towards fitbits. Why would I spend $125 on a product that is so easily damaged. Id like to find a way to replace the screen and then research screen protectors for it. Is anyone having the same problem? Can anyone help?

Not good there, but I mow the lawn in my blaze, have done tons of other physical work, play volleyball with it, and don't have a single scratch.  Several times I have bumped it into the wall and immediately looked with fear that it did something bad.....but nothing.  I know many companies are selling third party screen covers, and you can even get a silicon case/band that protects it completely.

That thing looks like it's been in the wars. Sure it didn't go in the mower? 🙂

Hello @MaxRambow welcome to the Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear about the damage to your Blaze. If you are looking for screen protectors you might find some great ideas on this thread. Also the Blaze screen is scratch resistant and is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 so it shoudn't been damaged under regular usage. My advise is to contact customer support, let them know with details the issue  you are experiencing so they can assist you.  @SunsetRunner and @racertempo it's great to have you here! 🙂

Keep me posted! 🙂

i use the tempered glass screen protectors (Bayite?  amazon, 3 pack for $7.99, prime ship)  this particular one has rounded edges and applies easily..removes it with the sharp edge of a cut up credit card.  I am on my 4th screen protector, but the blaze is perfect---if i am doing any work where i have to put my hand in tight areas (yesterday moving a big piece of furniture out of a tight doorway) i just remove it.

I wore my blaze for about a month or so without a screen protector with no scratches at all. I bought a screen protector a couple weeks ago and one of the endges chipped away last night, so I am going to replace it. Ebay has some good options for cheap screen protectors as well. I got a 10 pack for $7.99, for just in case a future screen protector cracks as well.

It's unfortunate that your screen only lasted a few days. Did you wear your blaze with the face towards the inside of your wrist? I can imagine mowing a lawn that had a bunch of mulch or other small sticks could have caused small rocks or branches to get kicked up and hit straight on the blaze watchface if it was worn on the inside of your wrist causing those cracks. As sad as it is to say, that wouldn't be considered normal wear since the blaze was in a compromising situation.
