Friends 7 Day Steps: Can't connect to Fitbit

Starting yesterday afternoon, I am no longer able to see my friends list in the Fitbit app in Friends - 7 Day Steps. I can see my friends list in Account - Friends, and I can see my friends when I access my Fitbit account using my PC.

 

When I am on the Friends - 7 Day Steps page in the app, I see this error message: Can't connect to Fitbit Please check your network connection and try again.

 

Yesterday, before this issue started, I set up a challenge and invited friends. Starting yesterday afternoon, there are no longer any friends listed on the Add Players - Friends tab, so I can't start another challenge.

 

To try to resolve the issue, I have restarted my phone multiple times, reset my Fitbit device, logged in and out of the app many times, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing works. I've searched through the forums to find that many other people have this identical issue, and there are no solutions. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

I'm sorry you're having this problem with your friend's list. This is a known issue and it seems it is still affecting some users. Our developers are actively looking into this and hopefully soon this will be completely resolved.

 

In the meantime, you can see your friend's list from the online dashboard at www.fitbit.com/friends.
