I did a comparison on the Blaze and the Surge it pretty much had (in the chart) everything the surge had except GPS route tracking, but in the video and the feature of the Blaze it said it does have GPS route tracking.

When I am using my blaze biking with a phone in my pocket, it only records time ... not mileage or map.

It doesn't seem to pick up the gps.  I also am using the Strava app, would that have something to do with it?

@Vickilyne we need more information,l. When your using the Blaze and Biking, are yo you putting the Blaze in Bike recorging mode, or letting the auto tracking node determinr that you are on a bike?

For the map the Bike tracking needs to be started manually.

Do you get the message "connecting to phone" and the "lets go!"?

Is the app running in the background and phonez location set to high accuracy?

I'm assuming your phones an Android.

I jumped in on this thread to get more information about the Surge and
Blaze, however, I currently do not own either of the two, therefore, I'm
sorry that I am not able to duly answer questions for either of these 2
pieces of fine engineering. I currently use the Charge.

Best regards!

NO ONE can tell me or has answered as to why or how to connect my blaze to my phone during exercise mode. Bluetooth is on. Location services is on. Clicked on walk and says check fitbit app. app has pop-up that says enable bluetooth sharing. OOOK??? How the heck do I do that ??? Fit bit deemed first blaze defective out of the box. Sent another. Doing the same exact thing. WTF ??!!!! Fitbit hasn't replied to any emails, messages, or posts. My impression of Fitbit is circling the drain at light speed.

@docwatkins what type of phone :telephone_receiver:  do we have?? Normally the android will take you to a page where there is an allow / dis-allow option.

You can find this information in the Fitbit.com store only you needed to scroll down and you will find the option Compare Trackers click on it and then choose the product that you want to compare and you will find the option however we want tell you the difference that the Blaze and Surge have.

Bot tracker has the same features only the difference that those tracker has is the GPS therefore only the Surge has in the tracker made, and the Blaze has GPS but you need to connect with a phone.

The feature for bot trackers are:
Steps, Calories, Distance
Clock
Sleep Tracking
Auto Sleep Detection
Silent Wake Alarm
Floors Climbed
Active Minutes
Auto Exercise Recognition
Multi-Sport
Continuous Heart Rate
Caller ID
Text Notifications
Music Control
Hourly Activity & Stationary Time

Difference :
GPS Tracking Surge has on the tracker and Blaze need to connect with another device to use the GPS.

Ive just gone from using a flex to a blaze .. Was happy to see on the box WINDOWS 10 PHONE COMPATIBLE -- as well as IOS and Andriode.

But guess what most of the things that must connect to the phones GPs dosent work on Win10 phones.. WHY DONT YOU STATE THAT ON THE BOX?
No music or notifacation not even live exercise..

Why?

I paid the same money as and IOS user but dont get the full deal?

Are you planning on fixing this and if so when?

Up to now I been a happy fitbit user.. Cant get my money back as the box as been open 😞

Music control does work on the Blaze with Windows 10. Notifications and Connected GPS don't because Microsoft hasn't added the necessary components to the OS yet. Microsoft is working on it, and they have said that it will be added this year...

I was all ready to buy the new Charge HR 2 as it had GPS and would be great to go for a run and not have to bring my phone, but turns out connected GPS means you have to have your phone in tow. What the hell is the point of that?! I could just run the GPS on my phone app. This is a ZERO value add (even within the Fitbit functionality) and seems very deceiving.

If Charge got a true GPS then I would buy another one. For now, I don't see how its better or a new version.

It sounds like the charge 2 and the Blaze are not 4 you.. I like it since the phone can stay in my pouch, I can start and stop the tracking from my wrist. I have the phone with me to listen to my podcast and for safety.

Fitbit has already produced your ideal tracker it is called the Surge with built in gps.

@Marissacwhite don't get a Surge, for 2 reasons: 1) there are known design issues, the band in particular, and 2) its overdue for a refresh ("Surge 2") or replacement. For background on band issues, review the threads on the Surge forum and the 1&2 star reviews on Amazon.

So the end of the year as past and gone. Yes music conects to phone but only on the rare times the Blaze classic blue tooth pairs.. which is nearly never. Ive looked and Googled and the blue tooth pairing seems to be a major problem across all OS not just windows mobile. But Fitbit seem to have no solution to this problem from what Ive read. SO when are windows getting around to fixing this conection thing? the end of what year? 2017 18? Happy new year to you all with all without a windows phone!
