Dear community !
I bought my father a FitBit Blaze yesterday and I could not make it work.
I installed the fitbit app without issue on his phone (Samsung Trend).
When I tried to pair the device wlilcking the little '+' on the app it said 'please update your phone'.
The phone is using Android 4.0.4, I checked the specs it uses Bluetooth 3.0.
I had no problem with my Oneplusone and an Iphone5s also...
Please don't tell me that the phone is not compatible ... 🙂
Thanks !

Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite and Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus are both listed as fully compatible, so you should be able to get it set up. I would suggest turning the phone off and then on again as a first step and if that doesn't work try deleting the app and downloading it again. Toggling Bluetooth off, wait , and then toggling it back on sometimes also flushes things out.
If none of these work someone will be able to get you going!

First thought i have is if you installed the app and set the Blaze up to your account on his phone. Your now setup.
You will only have to install the fitbit app on your phone, log into the same account. The app will show your Blaze, pair it to your phone and sync.
But what could be stopping this, have you removed your Blaze from his phones BT settings screen? If it is still connected to his phone amd his phone is within 30 feet, your phone might not even see the Blaze.
Let is know of any updates.

Welcome the Fitbit Community @Nodroc! I was reviewing the list of compatible devices and as @Julia_G mentioned the Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite and Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus are both compatible devices, is your father's device just a Samsung Trend or one of the models mentioned above? Also I noticed you mentioned the phone has Bluetooth 3.0. and to sync your tracker you need to have 4.0 BLE. For more information please review the article: How do Fitbit trackers sync their data? @Rich_Laue thanks for your cooperation!
I'll be around if you have any questions. 🙂

Hello @AngelaMa, This was my concern, all smart watch works only with bluetoothe low energy without retro compatibility to bluetooth 3.0 which is (from my understanding) a technical flaw.
Neverthess, I was able to sync the Blaze with an Android table (together with BLE4.0) but this is less convenient than the phone from my point of view.
I am still experiencing issues with the sync, I sync the blaze with 2 devicestablet and iphone) can it come from here ?

Basically yes it is possible that syncing through two devices, if both are near enough to you may cause problems. This is a two way street while the Blaze, or any BT device, is connected to one BT host(phone, tablet, PC) it will not be able to communicate with another host. This is a limitation of the Bluetooth protocol.
As for BT 3.0, yes it is stable, but a battery hog on both ends. 4.0 uses almost no battery when not actually communicating, does a better job of staying connected to the BT receiver such as the Fitbit tracker. This ability to stay better connected also may cause conflicting problems when trying to switch from a tablet or PC to a phone.
Since there is not enough info on when, where, or if the problem occurs all the time our only when around both devices, it is hard to say I'd this is what type experiencing.

Hello @Nodroc 🙂 as @Rich_Laue mentioned if you receive call, text, or calendar notifications on your Fitbit tracker, your tracker has a Bluetooth "bond" with the mobile device that sends the notifications. This bond prevents the tracker from syncing with another mobile device or a computer. To quickly and temporarily disable the bond, turn off Bluetooth on your mobile device. You can turn it back on later to resume syncing.
Thanks for stopping by! 😉
