Heart Rate inaccuracies during free weight sessions

So, I got the Blaze about a month and a half or so and overall I'm pretty happy with it. However, it seems to have a lot of issues being able to give me a good heart rate reading when I'm in the gym doing my weights. Sometimes I have to wait for around 10 seconds with my arm still for it to pick up an accurate reading, but other times it doesn't even do that. I also have times where I am measuring my heart rate and it's going easily over 100, but when I look at the Blaze it's hovering around 70 and sometimes even decreasing.

Is anyone else having these issues? And if so, does anyone have any tips on how to make this Blaze work better for me?

Thanks!

Wrist-based technology isn't ideal for tracking heart rate during weightlifting. There are a few bands (scosche, mio, and maybe a couple others) that are pretty good at it, but they are the exception. You will invariable find that fitbit products are hit or miss in this category. Your best bet is to try and wear the device higher up on the wrist, closer to the forearm-- even then you will not get great accuracy. Buy a chest strap.
