I received the Blaze as a gift to replace my old Charge that stopped syncing. BTW - I love the Blaze.
Noticed shortly after wearing the Blaze that my heart rate was reading 130 while I was sitting watching TV, seemed strange so I checked (finger and clock) and got 74. Waited 10 minutes and was still reading 128 to 132, checked manually and I was at 76. When exercising (walking briskly) I noticed I was at 150, a quick manual check I was really at 98.
Upon waking, the tracker said 62, I checked and was at 68.
I have reset the tracker, loosened the strap, tightened the strap, moved it higher, moved it lower, moved to the inside of the wrist, to the outside of the wrist, cleaned contacts and leds.
Most recently, I purchased an oximeter that measures oxygen and pulse (It is accurate with blood pressure machine and Doctor office measurements), it seems this is the only way for me to get an accurate measurement of my pulse.
BTW - I also noticed that the Blaze will give me a pulse reading even when it is off my wrist. I took it off recently while washing and noticed it was reading around 90 bpm, carried it to the bedroom and let it sit for a while and still reading a pulse 10 minutes later.
It sometimes seems ok (when at rest for hours it is close), but most of the time seems to pick random numbers for the pulse.
Concerned this is also throwing off calories as well?
Anyone know how to fix this, or is it just something you have to live with?
At least it seems to keep a good track of the steps one takes, ... lol

Hi there @Ron.Blz, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I'm sorry to hear that your Blaze is giving you inaccurate heart rate readings. Thanks a lot for all the effort you've put into getting your tracker to register your heart rate more accurately.
I'd recommend checking this article that includes several tips to improve your heart rate readings. Even if you've tried several things, you might find a few that you haven't tried and that could help.
Now, to prevent your tracker from recording your heart rate when you're not wearing it, you can just access the heart rate settings on the Blaze by going to the last screen. Here, look for heart rate, set it to either Auto which will not record your heart rate unless you have the tracker on or you can set it to off if you don't want it to track your heart rate at all.
If you still find your heart rate to be inaccurate, feel free to let me know and I'll be happy to help you out.
