Heart rate and steps not accurate

I ordered my blaze off eBay and received it yesterday. Everything has been fine except my steps and heart rate. It will show I'm in the fat burn zone when I'm not doing anything. Why is this?

Also, I have been sitting in the same spot for an hour and my step count went up 15 steps. Why is it doing this? I bought this to keep track of my steps along with other stuff and if it's not accurate, that really disappointing.

Do I need to reset it? How do I do that? Any help is appreciated.

The calories burned are BMR calories. Your fitbit also calculates calories burned for your BMR. You burn calories just by being alive! Even Sleeping. Fitbit includes these burned calories in it's calorie calculations, so even if you did not wear the fitbit, you'll still burn these calories.

Your concerned about 15 steps? Wrist models will add unwanted steps. You can enter a driving record to get rid of them. But if 15 steps bothers you will be doing it non stop

It's great to welcome you @Crystalleigh27 and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.

About your heart rate, I recommend taking a look at this post, where you will be able to find some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it. About the steps, you can restart your tracker and test it.

No I'm concerned that it keeps adding steps. Just from when I started watching it it added over 100 in a about an hour and a half.

Also, I'm aware about calories burned with bmr but that didn't answer as to why my heart rate kept appearing in the fat burn stage when I wasn't doing anything.
