Heart rate monitor is high when I am not wearing it

Occasionally during the last 2 weeks I’ve noticed that when I put my Blaze on either after charging or in the am .. the heat rate say 175-185!! It’s not even on my wrist. It takes at least 45 minutes to come down to a normal reading of 67-78. And now I can’t trust it.

How can this be fixed? I just got it for Xmas 2017.

Have you tried to restart your Blaze? If you haven't, I recommend restarting it by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

Also, if you have this option in "On", I suggest changing it to "Auto" by swiping to settings and then select "Auto".

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Thanks for telling me how to restart my Blaze.     I love this watch so much but definitely need the HR monitoring to work due to health reasons.   I know it’s not going to be 100% bang on,  but 177 when it’s not even being worn is crazy.

Restarting does seem to work.   For now.

Questions being:   How often do I have to restart this?  And why?

ALSO.:, why do I need to keep the HR in settings  in “Auto” not “on”?   Thx so much

I just had this happen to me yesterday. My resting heart rate is in the low to mid 50's. I had just started my warmup and suddenly my heart rate said 198! Then it said it was in the 180's and 170's for several minutes even though I took it off because it was acting crazy. After it being off for a few minutes it went back to normal and said my heart rate was around 80-90 BPM (which was probably right for a warmup for me).

I love my Blaze and hope I don't start having issues. I know that it isn't 100% accurate but I would assume it has always been close. Now I'm afraid I'll be second guessing all of my readings.
