My blaze's screen became blank, but the green LEDs were still flashing. I tried the reset procedure to no avail. I opened a case, they wanted me to send it back, thinking it is a broken screen, but I suspect it wasn't, since it wasn't syncing via bluetooth anymore, nor were the reminder vibration occurring. I suspected it was stuck in a deadlock state where even the reset sequence was not recognized.
I placed it in the charging cradle, also to no avail, so my final troubleshooting step before sending it back was to let the battery run out so it can boot up from scratch once I start charging it. I thought it would be a few days, since I charged it 2 days ago, but it ran out of juice today. I placed it in the charger, it came up, sync'd to the app, and all this time, it was tracking all my metrics, even performed an auto-exercise recognition (althought the HR was erratic, given I didn't wear it properly.)
The support person did say I had the HR monitoring set to ON instead of Auto. I thought I probably changed it to ON when I was fiddling with BT paring the day before. Would putting the Heartrate on ON make the tracker run some HR monitoring process nonstop, eventually consuming too much memory (or whatever), and blocking other process from getting a chance to run? (I am only assuming these things because the fitbit app does the same thing to my phone).

Hi there @phatbitzr. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I'm sorry to hear that your tracker is not working as it should and thanks a lot for what you've tried to get it to work correctly!
When it comes to the HR monitor being set to ON all the time, I don't really think this would cause the tracker to overload and stop working for other features. The ON feature for the heart rate monitor is for making sure your tracker will be continually looking for a heart rate signal while setting it to AUTO will make it only look for a heart rate signal when it's in proximity to your skin.
I've not heard of other cases where the heart rate monitor being set to ON will cause other functions on the tracker to fail, so I wouldn't say this is the main reason of other features not responding.
If you're still having problems with your tracker, feel free to let me know and I'll be happy to help you out and get you back on track!

Are there cases where the tracker is still on, but non-responsive, and the only thing to do is let the battery run out?
I also noticed a strange thing with it when it was in that state. It auto-recognized my bike ride, but recorded it as an non-editable activity of the type Bike. I would not have noticed it being weird except for the fact I had another auto recorded cycling activity earlier that day, and it was uploaded as an editable activity of the type Outdoor Bike.
