Heart rate monitor

My heart rate monitor is very inconsistent. I will be at the gym for an hour working out, and 60% of the time I check my heart rate, it will be between 80 & 90 bpm, while I'm working hard. Other times I'll be sitting at work, and it will say 125, yet I'm not active.

Anyone else having this kind of issue?

I found that if I go to workout mode when I exercise, my heart rate is much more accurate.

I have had accuracy issue after updating the firmware.  When I first got my blaze, it was accurate.  Now, after updating to the last 2 firmware updates, it stays between 80 and 90 even though heart rate is > 100.  This is using treadmill mode while walking on the treadmill.  I hope they fix this.  Since it was accurate at one point, something in the firmware updates caused this condition.

Same issue with Blaze for me, HR monitor doesn't work consistently.  I did a set of barbell squats of 315 for 10 reps, my heart was pounding out of my chest, my Fitbit said my HR was 90.  Then, in between sets it climbs to 120 while I'm resting, then several times during my workout it just stops reading.  NEVER had these problems with Polar.

Yes!!  It's been better if I hit the workout mode screen, but I can be doing weights and feel my heart pounding and it's at 75.  My resting heart ratre is very low, like 42.  My issue was my Charge HR gave me active minutes for brisk walking, which I do all day work, in spurts, so not the "10 minute rule" that applies to active minutes.  I customized my heart rate so "fat burn" started at 90 rather than 110, and I am getting more fair Active Minutes on the Blaze.  I do believe the HR was over generous, as it was saying I was burning over 3k calories a day, and I wondered why I didn't drop any weight.  So the customized heart rate has made it more useful to me.
