Heart rate shows -- when using connected GPS

I'm having an issue that I've narrowed down to only happening when using connected GPS. When I select Exercise and Walk my heart rate starts off working just fine. After a while into it frequently shows -- when I check it. When I check the walk online the heart rate graph shows several flat areas instead of the normal jagged graph. Now if I do the same walk and let it go into auto activity my heart rate always shows and the graphs are normal. I have an iPhone 6.

I've reset my Fitbit, unpaired it from the app and my phone, and repaired it. It worked fine for 1 walk then back to the --. Anyone else having this problem and any ideas on how to fix it?

Does it ever show -- when you don't have GPS connected?

Have you tried adjusting where the watch is placed on your arm? Try pushing it up towards the top of your hand as opposed to further up your arm. See if the placement of the watch changes anything. Sometimes it can just get really sweaty and need to breathe a little.

The heart rate always works when GPS is NOT connected. I've tried wearing it loose, tight, higher, lower and it doesn't matter when using connected GPS - I get -- a lot.

Do the same walk w/o connected GPS and it works like a champ.

I'd suggest contacting fitbit support. It may be a defective tracker and require replacement. However, it may be software related. If possible, try to connect to a different phone and see if the same issues occur. If they don't then it could be an incompatibility issue with the iphone 6.
