I bought my fiance a fitbit blaze and unfortunately he has an old version operating system on his iPhone and I can't get the fitbit app on the phone. I set it up to my iPad but I was wondering if there was a way I can still pair the fitbit to his phone so he can get notifications on the fitbit through his phone, without having the app on his phone? Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks

Could you be a little more specific about the version number please

The fitbit version is blaze 8.402.1 and as for the iPhone I don't have the version available I just know it's not running under the latest IOS and it's an iphone 4s

Doesn't look like there should be an issue with the 4S but he does need ios8 or later. He just needs to update to 8 or later.

I couldn't just find the fitbit on his iPhone via Bluetooth for notifications? The app has to be on the phone?

I don't think he should have to have the app on his phone. Are you not able to download the app? The blaze won't work with anything lower than ios8 though. If he has a lower version, it probably won't even pair.
Or did it pair but notifications don't work? Does ir show up under bt on his phone?

No the app definitely won't download because he has an old IOS version.. I haven't tried to pair it without the app on wasn't exactly sure how. When I turn on his Bluetooth on his phone the fitbit isn't showing.. do I have to turn off the Bluetooth on the iPad I have the fitbit set up to first before I can try it on the phone?

The user can not pair a Fitbit to the phone, this must be fine with the app.
Normally since your tracker is setup, the user would download the Fitbit app, login to their Fitbit account and the phone is setup.
You might have to turn the Bluetooth or the iPad off so that the Fitbit app can see the tracker, but you first need to get the Fitbit app on the phone. This requires iOS 8 or better.

You can try it. Here are some syncing tips:

It looks like you may have to have the app installed.
It would help if you knew what ios he's running. If it's below 8, probably none of the tips will help. Can you check his ios?
