First of all, I got this thing for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Was a bit of a hassle to set up but now I'm set and over the moon with it, super cool gadget.
My question is though, I do a lot of intense gaming on my computer and the adrenaline raises my heart rate frequently up between 100-120, putting me in the "fat burn" zone according to the Blaze.
I just wanted to know if this is altering how it calculates my daily calories burned, and if it is, how do I prevent it from doing so?
For the record it says I burned 3,800 calories yesterday and while I did get exercise, I can see clear spikes in the calorie graph when I was just playing some video games. Should I just take it off when I do this? I'm gonna assume that I didn't burn 300 calories in an hour while sitting on my rear.
Thanks!

Hi, @Gubzs, the short answer is that yes, your heart rate spikes during gaming will elevate the calculated calorie burn from your Fitbit. You could take it off while you are gaming. However, you might like to keep track of your gaming activities...
If so, I would suggest creating a custom activity of "video games" (whatever you want to call it). Custom activities can only be created in the web based part of the software; however, once created, you can access them from your app.
To create an activity go to your web based account, click on "dashboard" at the top of every page in the Community when you are logged on, choose "log" and then activities. The place for creating a custom activity is on the bottom right.
After that, once you start playing, you can track it as a "workout" on your Blaze. Start the workout when you begin playing and stop when you have finished. Once your workout syncs to your app yu can rename it to Video Gaming (or whatever you have chosen as your custom workout). At that point it will ask you to input the calories and you can just give it a BMR calorie value (calories burned staying alive).
Having said all that, if you are quite intense and agitated playing your games you probably will burn a few extra calories! Maybe even as much as your Fitbit thinks! But if you want to be conservative my workaround will allow you to adjust your calculated calories and keep track of your gaming.
I hope this all makes sense. If not, please do post again... there is always someone here to help. Best wishes for the new year, and welcome to the Community!
