I had owned a Charge HR previously and gave up on it after the 3rd one failed in a year. So I went to get a new watch. I like the Fitbit community stuff, life the challenges etc so I stuck with the brand. I got the Blaze knowing it had no built in GPS but it's advertised as if would use my phone's GPS to give me useful information like pace and distance, which is what I thought it would do. It appears I was wrong. After a lengthy discussion with a support team member, it appears that the only thing the connected GPS data does it's draw a line on a map. All the distance and pace data is based on your stride and steps. Even if this is configured correctly the information is estimated. I do a lot of trail running so my stride length varies a lot over the course of a run. So my measured 7km run shows up as an 8.4km run. This meant my pace data was way off. So am i right in thinking that the connected GPS is really not connected at all? There is no GPS information sent back to my watch for statistics? I would call that false advertising personally. It's advertised as using your phone's GPS for pace information on the watch but it does not use the GPS. It makes an estimate based on your step data. I'm hoping someone can correct me here and tell me how to get my Blaze using my phone GPS for accurate (not estimated) pace data.

It's great to see you around @McDoof. As you mentioned, the Blaze does not have built in GPS. To get GPS data including pace and route for your workout, you must select a GPS exercise from the Exercise menu on Blaze and bring a GPS enabled mobile device with you. This feature is known as connected GPS because Blaze relies on the GPS sensors in the phone.
If this is not working as it should, keep in mind that your phone needs to be a compatible mobile device in order to work correctly. Also, you can take a look at this post, where you will be able to find some tips in order to improve some Blaze features.
Catch you later.
