How do I get steps on a stationary bicycle?

I'm not getting any steps on a stationary bike with my Blaze.  Do I have to tie it into my shoelaces?

 

I went to exercise, then biking, then started it but got 0 steps.  Appreciate some advice!

Using the Bike mode on the device itself will not give you steps as its not step based.

 

Just leave it alone and you can put it on your shoe lace or strap it to the pedal. Also putting your hands on your legs as well will add steps

I found putting it on my shoe still didn't always work.  I ride with my arm swinging by my side.  That never fails to count.  Sometimes I rest it on my thigh but again, that doesn't always count.  Happy riding!
