A warm welcome to the Forums @Samfairlady and @Rich_Laue thanks for stopping by and the instructions provided. I would like to know if you keep having problems connecting your tracker with your new phone? Since your tracker is already paired to your account, you don't need to pair it again you just need to download the app, enter your information and your tracker will sync automatically. If it is not syncing, follow our syncing troubleshoot you can also take a look at our setup procedure.
Let me know the outcome.

That's it, you never pair a Fitbit tracker to a phone or PC, you connect it to your Fitbit account and then the Fitbit software pairs the tracker to the phone.

Remove from the app will not remove the tracker from the phone, you must manually do this through the BY Settings Screen.
Shutting the old phone off will also work.
