How to recover data from a Fitbit Blaze

I apologize in advance for the length of this message, but I am desperate for a possible fix to recover the data.

On November 5th, my boyfriend passed away. At the time of his death, he was wearing a Fitbit Blaze. I personally have a Fitbit Ionic and use the iPhone app regularly. I received his Fitbit back and myself and his family were desperate to find the time he passed based on his Fitbit data (heart rate). I charged his Fitbit and added it to my Dashboard, but when it synced it somehow copied all the data from my Ionic and removed all the data from his Blaze. I have no clue how this happened since I added it to my app. I was devastated to see this happen.

I called Fitbit Support and spoke to 3 different people - unfortunately there was a language barrier with all 3 of them and I’m not sure if they understood what I was needing.

Please help. We are desperate for answers and know the Fitbit data could provide some answers.

Hi there @lglionette2005, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums!

First of all, I'm very sorry about your loss Robot Frustrated

Now when it comes to the data on his Fitbit Blaze, the only way of seeing the information is by getting the tracker to sync to his Fitbit account. In this specific situation, by setting up his tracker under your account, all the previous data has been already erased and replaced by yours since what you did was to set up his tracker as a new device on our account.

At this point, I'm afraid there will be no way of retrieving this information unless maybe if he had the All Day sync option enabled on his Fitbit app and if you have access to his phone and can access the Fitbit app to check when was the last time that the tracker synced and if it synced on November 5th. Other than that, any unsynced data on his tracker is not recoverable.

I'm sorry to be the one to give you these news but if there's anything else I can be of help with, let me know!
