The selection of useful clock faces are poor. I currently use the original one but how do I get the Blaze to always show the number of calories burnt when it is auto turned on?

You do not have to do anything to keep calories as the metric being shown. Once you select the metric to be shown, that is the metric that continues to be shown on the clock face. Perhaps you have accidentally tapped on the clock face and changed the metric being shown?

Tap on the watch face, it will cycle though showing Steps, Date, Heart Rate, Distance, Calories, and Flights of Stairs Climbed. It will keep showing whatever metric that you have selected.
