I slept for 8hrs but my sleep tracker says 6hrs, why?

My sleep tracker said I fell asleep 12:18am and woke up at 8:34am which is clearly 8hrs but it said I only slept 6hrs. Is it because I have sleep debt from this past week and it subtracted hours?! It's just weird. Help?!

It would be rare, and unhealthy, for a person to be in a deep sleep for the whope night.  Maybe posting a screenshot would help us explain this.
