Inaccurate mileage in Blaze suddenly.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

All of a sudden my Blaze is a mile of what my RunTracker app says. I ran my 3 mile route today, I've run it may time and had no issues with my Blaze but today it was wrong. I like backed on my workouts and the past few runs have been short by a mile as well. Not sure why since I've changed nothing. Any ideas?IMG_6855.JPGIMG_6856.PNG

I've noticed the same problem recently.

It was pretty close on my run today until the last mile out of six, then it was .5 miles off all of a sudden. It's so random. 😞

Has this problem been solved? I'm having the same issue with my blaze. The track on the park is accurate and my blaze is giving me less than 0.50 mile. My blaze is under guarantee still, could be replace it?

Hey there guys @MariaUESNY @estesbubba, Good to see you in the Community!

As @AngelaMa mentioned,  this is already been worked on and hopefully we'll have a permanent fix soon. In the meantime, have you tried restarting your trackers to see if this makes any difference?

You can do this by pressing and holding the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds until your tracker reboots. After that, give it a try and see how it behaves.

I do the same route every workout day.  6.2 miles or so.  Blaze has started logging it as 1.87 or so miles for the last week or so.  The times are correct and the mile splits are correct and total steps are correct.  i fooled around with stride but put it back to automatic and still NO GO.  FitBit support line gave no help.  I ask if this was another software glitch as has happened in the past 2 or 3 years.  Hd didn't know anything about it.

I have rebooted blaze.  I have deleted fitbit app on my iPhone 7 plus and reloaded it.  still no help.

Hi @Jersphoto. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having these problems with your Blaze. I can recommend one more thing. Restart your tracker again a couple of times by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot. Then, set up your tracker as a new device. For this, go to the Account section at the bottom right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, try it out the next time you do your workout and see if there is a difference.

It's very important for you to sync your tracker before setting it up as a new device though to make sure all your data will be saved to your account.

Let me know how it goes!

I am having the same problem with recording steps!  It is way off!  This is my third fitbit tracker and I am highly disapoointed in the Blaze.  What do I need to do?  Can this be exchanged for a different product?

So, I've had issues with accuracy over the time I've owned my blaze. Not sure what's causing this.  I started using the phone app to track milage.  I'm walking three miles (5 X a .6 mile block downtown). The fitbit (phone GPS) weekly exercise part of the app will say 2.8 - not great, but close enough I guess.

When I press "finish" - then the dashboard shows 2.6 miles. <SIGH!> This actually isn't even the tracker. This is how the phone/web app is working. So I'm losing 1/2 mile distance every day.  At one point the app wasn't doing this - it kept the 2.8 miles.  Suddenly now it's cutting even more mileage off...

HELP.  Thanks.

I'm having the same problem for 2 weeks now. Just walked .81 miles according to GPS and got credit for .16 -- I have done all the fixes. Now what? Do they tell us if it can be fixed or do we scrap this tracker? Why won't anyone help us?

I've been having a similar issue. I use my phones GPS, but track my walks with my tracker. Every time, I get the little box with the red slash in the left hand corner of the tracker shortly after starting a walk. Yesterday, before starting, it couldn't find my phone at all. I made sure it was paired with my Bluetooth before starting too. I'm getting frustrated because it's giving me very inaccurate milage.I shouldn't have to keep restarting my tracker, Uninstalling and reinstalling app, etc. I guess I'll try the setting up new tracker and see if that helps. Please fix this problem. I don't want to use the app to record my walks becuase it's not reading my heart rate. Plus it's like a .3 difference when using the app vs. Tracker. Please fix this problem!!!

I did each step as you directed without fail.  No Joy!!  Just did a 2.5 mile walk and as I was walking it was clicking off the mileage and half mile splits correctly (close anyway) but when I finished, it posted it on my dashboard as .99 miles while showing the one mile split times for 2.5 miles.

over the last 2.5 years, I have owned almost every Fitbit device you have made but at this point, unless we can get it fixed soon, I will be leaving Fitbit for good and use only my Nike+ Run Club and my IWatch 2.

6.3 miles today using Fitbit on iPhone 7 with the Blaze watch.  During the exercise everything was correct.  once I pushed "Finished" and look at my exercise on my iPhone 7, Fitbit reports total distance 4.81 miles but the splits and the graphics show 6.3 on everything except total distance.  Hope they find the problem soon or at least acknowledge they have a problem.

Hi, @Jersphoto, this is an issue that is currently affecting some iOS users. It does not appear to be a problem with trackers -- it is a problem with the iOS app. Fitbit is aware of the issue and the team is working on it.  You can get updates in this thread.

I ride mountain bike

I get wrong results counting my KM.

If I ride 12 KM my Blaze will show +/- 4 KM.

Why?!

May be it was disigned not for mountain bikes that no always you move your feet-going down.

Or every step on the bike you move biger distance?
