I read that the blaze being discontinued, is this true? If so I am seriously unhappy. I just got my blaze in January and I’d have waited if I knew it was being discontinued/replaces. 😡

Where the steps are concerned,  you may need to measure your stride length if I'm not mistaken. Depending on what device your paired with. Check that your widgets are switched on. I was thinking of replacing mine, but if they've stopped producing them, I'll have to look for something else

It's probably because there is an obvious design flaw with the Blaze. They left the top and bottom bezel of the pebble open with their standard faceplate frame and that made it prone to getting dinged and scratched because it was exposed (mine did immediately). With their new similar designs they made all corners of the pebble covered with the face plate now. Obviously they got feedback but instead of offering new face plates to keep the Blaze protected, they just decided to make new trackers. Gives them more revenue.

Please provide an explanation as to why Blaze is discontinued. Thx

I told them I had a battery problem, they are sending me a new blaze.  It was fast and easy.  No complaints on my end, but I really do love the blaze, I wish they weren’t getting rid of it.

This is something that we have been wondering for a long time. Fitbit just discontinued the Blaze and brought out the Iconic. I wasn't happy a month later after I got my Blaze that it was no longer available. Starting to find out more and more of the issues that people were having with it, I wasn't impressed. I have been a Fitbit Customer for over 4 years now and I am not sure if I would ever go back after my Blaze craps itself. I found a Chinese competitor that has something just like the new charge that's coming out and it's $35.00 CDN and not $200. It has all the samethings that the Fitbit does. I don't need all these fancy things but having a device that was pushed and then discontinued without any reason isn't good. Fitbit may think that they are still on the top of the tracker game but there is a lot of other companies who are coming out with the same or even better trackers and not at the price point that Fitbit thinks they still are. Now, I am not one of those who is going to compare an Apple Watch because those aren't the same as a tracker like some people think they are. You can get trackers that are the same or better and don't have the Fitbit name. I could careless what the name of my tracker is but it's the lack of transparency with Fitbit that pisses me off to no end.

Have you also noticed Fitbit doesn't do any public announcements of their intentions for major changes?  First they discontinue the Blaze (have had mine 2 years with no issues), and this morning, the entire diet section has changed; no notice, no tutorials, etc.  Totally bummed.

So is it just being supported as in updated/kept alive? Or can we actually expect new clock faces (something it’s seriously lacking in) and features?

I am getting a message on  iPhone saying that "This item is no longer available" when attempting to update my Blaze. Is this correct ?

I received a marketing email from Fitbit suggesting I upgrade from my blaze to the Ionic. In a ‘compare products’ list on the email it says blaze is water resistant to 50m !! .... and that it doesn’t have a sleep tracker!! I think Fitbit say what they like

Thank you for your communication.
I understand that I can no longer update my blaze. Is this true. It is a
message that I now receive from Apple.
Thank you.

Hard to believe. First post claiming marketing email with false claims. Blaze wasn't even replaced with Ionic. It was replaced with Versa. Why would they now be sending just YOU, mail pushing the older Ionic? I say troll!

Best Answer
Dear MarkMM, no trolling here! I Have the email in front of me and happy to forward. It does indeed suggest I upgrade to the Ionic and has a check box ‘compare products’ list stating the blaze is waterproof and that it does not track sleep - both of which are factually incorrect (although my blaze has a mind of its own). The blaze may well have been replaced by the Versa but that is not relevant to this thread which was originally about people being given conflicting information by Fitbit and I was contributing ... not sure why you feel the need to call me a troll - there is no need to be insulting.

Ok, sorry then for suggesting you're a troll. There just seems to be a lot of 1 time posters that say bad things and never respond to replies.

The compare check boxes are probably static and don't link to anything, right? Just a list that happens to only be in the email?

Just doesn't sound right. Checking my mail, I have a "now available: charge 3" email from Fitbit Oct 9th. Nothing trying to get me to upgrade my over 2.5 year old Blaze to the Ionic. No links in the mail you can post?

Best Answer
No, sorry, it’s not click to compare - this is an embedded image in the body of the email that starts with the words ‘see how they stack up’ then two columns headed by each of the devices with a list of features below this, including whether the device is waterproof, will track swim exercise, track heart rate, track sleep etc. It’s designed to show the ionic has more ‘ticks’ under it than the blaze. The point to this is that some posters have claimed that Fitbit were still marketing the blaze early in the year when they knew it was being discontinued. You now say that the ionic is an older model and it appears they are marketing this, too, as an upgrade for the blaze. My contribution was that ‘it seems that Fitbit say what they like’ ... and I did intended this to be critical of Fitbit - I love my Fitbit but this is all bit naughty of them in my view.

Makes no sense that they'd be trying to up sell the Ionic while falsely stating the Blaze is waterproof.  And why are you the special one receiving this mail? I have never received these mails making false claims about the Blaze being waterproof. And no one can post a link to where Fitbit claims the Blaze is waterproof. Never seen other than first time posters make these claims as well. Why does no one that's been around a while seem to get these false information mails? Maybe it's spam not even officially from Fitbit.

As for being discontinued. I don't remember if Fitbit was still marketing the Blaze right before they discontinued it. I know it was still on web store. Yes, they didn't announce it was being discontinued. I can't really complain myself. I bought mine in March 2016, and have been on the forums since then, I knew the Versa was coming. Blaze was getting old. I'm sure if I bought the Blaze this year without doing any research, I might not be happy how things went.

Okay so I have added two screen shots of the marketing email I received from noreply@e.fitbit.com as I am getting quite irritated that you seem to doubt the veracity of my post (not sure if the screen shots will attach though). There is a ‘shop now’ button on the email that links to https://www.fitbit.com/uk/welcome?promo=IONIC_UPGRADE_EMEA&&utm_source=ET&utm_medium=EM&utm_campaign... and a voucher code of uAX15gt5p5RM
That can be used till 28 October.

I posted my contribution to this thread to make an observation to the forum as there is nothing displayed on the Fitbit website about how to make a complaint - the moderator knows my identity and perhaps they can verify that I did indeed receive this marketing email. I certainly did not expect to be publicly criticised by someone who doesn’t even work for Fitbit. This is my last post on this.

My apologies. You seem on the up and up, so your email probably has false information as you state. Looks like that is a special promotion for upgrading to the Ionic only. You can't use that code on another model. That's why the newer Versa wasn't mentioned. Haven't seen or received that offer here in the USA. Once again, sorry to have offended you.
