Is there ANY way to waterproof the Blaze? I want to use it at camp!

Hey guys! So I am going to be a camp counselor this summer- my dream job!

I have a Blaze, but I am incredibly worried about it. I need a watch for camp, and I really don't want to spend money on a waterproof watch if I can find a cheaper way to waterproof my Blaze.

So here's my question-

Can I waterproof my Blaze with an Amazon or Etsy product?

- I don't care if it sacrifices the HR monitor or the stairs counter

- I'm really just worried about counting my steps at camp.

Thank you to anyone who responds!

Hello @dernapern,

I've used this bag with my One and have even gone into a hot tub with it.  I tested it by putting a piece of newsprint in it (which goes dark when it gets wet) and it stayed perfectly dry.

That said, I'm not sure how effectively it'll function as a watch if you can't wear it on your wrist.

I hope this helps.

Hello @PureEvil! Thank you for responding. I looked at the bag, and it definitely would be helpful in keeping my valuables dry while at camp, but it does kind of defeat the purpose of having a watch/steps tracker. I really do appreciate the product recommendation, though, and I will probably be looking into getting that bag for my Fitbit to stay in while I am canoeing or doing other water games while at camp.

Thanks!

Hi there @dernapern. Good to see you in the Community! 🙂

It sounds like you will have so much fun at the camp!

My only concern about this would be that altering your tracker in a way like this will result in compromising your tracker's warranty as you can see below:

"This warranty does not apply to a Product or part of the Product that has been altered or modified (e.g., to alter functionality or capability) by anyone who is not a representative of Fitbit or if the Product is inserted or installed in a casing not provided by Fitbit."

More information can be found here.

Just to clarify about my previous post... I thought you were talking about something like water-fi or something like that but something as what @PureEvil suggests would work without any problem.

Hey, @FerdinandFitbit

Thanks for checking in. My Fitbit is beyond the 45 day policy, and I am not worried about returning it as it is in perfect working condition. The bag does not help as I cannot wear it while on hikes. It does help for canoeing and creek stomping, which I will use it for.

So the question still stands- are there any products out there that can cover up my Fitbit while it's still on my wrist?

I get you @dernapern. So in that case, I'm not really sure of other products that would help in this situation.

Hopefully someone with any similar experience jumps in and provides some advise.
