I'm new to the communtiy so I'm sure a lot of the things I'll say have already been address in other post. My 1st impression of the Blaze was a total let down. I still question why its on my wrist and at what point in my 30 day window will I take it back. The Blaze is literally a more colorful Charge HR with changable wristbands. With that being said, I owned the Charge HR and loved it, loved the tracking on it and the quick start for activities, just press and hold the side button and the tracker starts tracking for on display stats. So naturally one obtaining the Blaze I attempted this feature only to find out is doesnt exsist, that I actually have to go into the Blaze tabs, hit the excercise tab and hit go. That was strike number one. The next issue I have is the responsiveness of the interface, you can swipe left and right just fine most times, you tap to enter the particular tab, but the only way to get out of a tab is to use the home button, there needs to be a backwards swipe feature, whats the point of having and interface and having to use buttons, other than having a home button? Strike 2. Strike 3 and probably the biggest one of all. Using my HR I was able to come off a loud alarm and starting waking up to gentle music with the strong vibration of the HR on my wrist. I have my alarm set for 5 am, I've had my Blaze for almost 3 weeks now, I have only felt my alarm go off at 5am 3 times. It also seems that when the alarm goes off it does auto snooze itself and come back on in a few minutes as the HR does. The 1st time I thought maybe I touched something in my sleep and turned off the alarm, so I set one for in the day to test the alarm feature. The alarm went off and gave me the options to snooze or go, I let the alarm play out not selecting either option, the vibrations settled on its own and about 5 minutes later buzzed again giving the same interface options, thus confirming that something is not right with my morning alarm setting, its safe to presume that since I did not turn off the alarm from 5 am the Blaze should have progressively kept buzzing, it does not or has not.
Maybe in time the Blaze will be something I would have wished I kept, however I'm highly disappointed that it would have been released with so many issues as FitBit was taking orders for this tracker back in February, but for now just the Charge HR and save yourself 60 bucks.....

To each their own....but isn't it good that they have options to choose from and tht you like the HR that much? I personally do call the blaze the same thing you did it the beginning, a Charge with a color face, and interchangeable bands, along with the ability to read text messages. For me, that is exactly what I want. The ChargeHR looks too much like a rubberband and shouts out that it is a fitness tracker. I already have 4 total bands for my blaze and it looks nothing like a traditional fitness watch.
Some of your issues may have been fixable with a reset....or you may have had a defective unit.

@onthegrind, I am able to get notifications when my phone is across the house. The iWatch is the same way, as in you have to be so close to your phone.

The Blaze communicates strictly through BT which by its appreciation is a short term radio communication <30 feet. I however easily sync at 50 feet.
The IWatch is different in that it has both Wi-Fi and BT, at home both your phone and iWatch connect to your home's WiFi. If the BT can not reach the phone and watch will still communicate through the wifi.

First, the Blaze is a vast improvement on the Charge HR; secondly, you need to learn how to write and construct paragraphs properly.
