I would like to leave my Blaze at home while I travel overseas for 13 days due to the hassle of charging it in unknown electrical outlets using different adaptors, voltages and watts.
I want to make sure that it works when I turn it back on when I'm home.
I was going to fully charge and just turn it off on the device before I leave.
Any other tips please?

If you charge via USB port on your laptop or a PC at the hotel you shouldn't have any problems with different voltages etc. But Yes I'd just swipe the screen over to settings then scroll down to the Shutdown option and leave it in a nice safe place at home out of direct sunlight or where a potential thief won't see it 😉
