Media Control: Access, Volume, Skip, Jump 15 Seconds

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Media control UI Solutions:
1. ACCESS: Swipe clock "down" to access/activate music media control (as promised in Surge). Swipe up to return to clock. PLEASE let the music control screen stay on (and NOT time out only to revert to clock mode).
2. VOLUME: up and down buttons by press-and-hold the right buttons (as promised in Surge)
3. SKIP: Swipe left of right to skip forward or backward 1 track
4. JUMP: "jump back 15 seconds" or "jump forward 15 seconds" should replace the "SKIP" icons in the image below (iPhone Audible lets you toggle between them)
alternatively: Jump could be double-tap left or right side of the screen or double-press the right buttons.

p.s. Some of these features were promised in the Surge, but not delivered. I returned my Surge in hopes that all efforts and these features were being put into the Blaze model.

I was going to simply suggest that this wasn't the Feature Request forum and the Blaze functionality was probably set is stone already. All of that is true but whenn I went back and read your post again, I was distracted since the proposal looks like a pretty good use of the control interface.

Neat!

@Wilsondesign Thanks for writing in to us!

I can confirm both number 1 and 2. You'll be able swipe down to access music control, and the functionality will stay on screen for a while. I'm testing it as we speak! You'll also be able to use the action buttons on the right of the Blaze to control volume.

As for number 3- the skip option will be there, but you'll have to select the fast forward button on the Blaze screen; it's not a swiping motion.

4- This isn't a feature on the Fitbit Blaze, but I agree that more control over the music would be great! I'd recommend adding to our Feature Request board. This is the best way to convey your suggestions for improvement to our teams!

@Wilsondesign Where were any of those features promised for the Surge? (I have never seen Fitbit commit to any of them.)

They were included in instruction manuals or quick-starts. I read them
personally when I was researching which model to purchase. Therer are complaints on
the message board about it. The moderator said that they would go and change the
digital publications. It seems they have corrected (the publications not
the firm/software).

There was a misprint a while back where we published incorrect information regarding Surge music control like @Wilsondesign mentioned, but have since addressed that.

Thank you very much for looking into this. I DO hope they impliment a Jump 15 seconds in a software upgrade soon, as I always listen to audio books/ podcasts and don't want to miss a word. Take a look at Audible's IOS interface for a great example. Just tap the book cover to swithch the "SKIP" buttons to "JUMP" buttons. Allen

With me it's podcasts. If we're going for skip buttons in this ideal, then I think they need to do whatever your audio app is configured for which would suit me fine.
