I have had my fitbit blaze since it first came out and I have never been able to see my actual text messages, I just recently found out this was am option, I only receive a notification when a get a text with the person's name and time sent, I have gone back and tried to fix this so I can see the actual text on my fitbit blaze but I have had no luck, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and I use the message+ app for my texts

Use of the Message + app is the problem here. Fitbit supports the standard Android API for these things and Message + seemingly works slightly differently. Even to get it working with the standard app you need to make some settings changes (switch message previews on).
