Miles are off with blaze

I walked exactly 2 miles this morning and my blaze only recorded 1.68mi. I checked and double checked my stride length and same issue. Anyone besides me having this problem?

Fitbit customer service had me reset my Fitbit, but it still didn't help.  I'm on the fence about returning it.  I know nothing is "perfect", but the miles are way off (too much for the price of a Blaze).

I hear you but I do like my Blaze so I will be keeping it irregardless. Fitbit needs to give us an option to increase the mileage, will have to wait and see what happens.

@wxchick it's hard to say without knowing which of the 3 ways you used to track your walk?

Was the connected GPS working?

Have you set your stride up? It looks like it needs to be increased by a 3rd.

Hi,

No, I don't have GPS set because I'm on a treadmill and when I do walk outside, I don't need GPS. I never had this problem with the Fitbit One, it seems to be only the Blaze and my stride is correct. Fitbit needs to address the calculation being off, even if they just make a statement stating "calculation of miles will be off".

My location is turned on on my phone but sometimes when you ask the Blaze to connect to the phone it still says that "phone can not be located". But if I exit the exercise and try again it eventually connects. I may have to do this 2 to 3 times but it does end up connecting. Just a pain when I am ready to walk and I have to keep trying to get my Blaze to find my phone.

I usually find restarting the phone is the fastest way, often the Blaze connects before the phone powers up.

The other thing to do is disable Fitbit notifications then re-enable.

Or kill the Fitbit app and restart it

I did a walk today whereby I started my Fitbit as we set off. I can see from the map that it didn't register the first mile or so at all. This tends to happen every time I do a long walk - previously I did a 4-5 mile walk and it probablyprobably missed the first half-mile or so. GPS is always on on my phone, as is Bluetooth.

Constantly restarting either the phone or the Blaze isn't a particularly satisfactory way of dealing with something that occurs quite often
